Terms and Conditions

Thank you for registering for the upcoming Akron in Action event at Akron Public Schools. By making this reservation, you are entering into an agreement with us. Please take a moment to read over and accept our Terms and Conditions, as outlined below. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and Completion of the Registration Process by event participant (client/consumer) constitutes a binding agreement between the registrant and/or their represented organization and Akron Public Schools to the following terms and conditions. 

Payment Information 

  • Full payment is required by September 16, 2022 or your registration will be voided.  

  • Payment may be made by PayPal or by sending a check made payable to Akron Public Schools, Attn:  Liz Janes, 10 N. Main Street, Akron, OH 44308. 

  • Should your organization require an invoice, you must submit a purchase order from your district or organization at the time of or immediately following registration.  Submit your PO to Akron Public Schools, Attn:  Liz Janes, 10 N. Main Street, Akron, OH 44308 or or email [email protected] or fax (330) 761-3058.  An invoice will be generated from Akron Public Schools within 5 business days of when the PO is received.  

  • Other payments including credit cards are processed through a third party (PayPal). Your information is not stored or retained by Akron Public Schools. 

  • Your registration will not be confirmed until the payment is received. Please do not make airline reservations until you receive confirmation of conference registration. 

  • All registration policies, payment policies, and deadlines will be observed, regardless of  the circumstances that may interfere with a registered participant’s attendance. 

  • Reservations not paid in full by September 16, 2022 will be voided.

Cancellation and Transfer Policy 

  • By making your reservation, our agreement becomes a legal contract and your registration fee becomes non-refundable if you don’t complete the cancellation process by September 16, 2022.  

  • Cancellations must be made in writing with a valid receipt. Send cancellation requests via e-mail to [email protected] by September 16, 2022. A $50 administrative fee applies to ALL cancellations. 

  • If registration is not canceled by September 16, 2022, you are responsible for the full registration amount.  

  • Registration is transferable to another attendee but the transfer must be completed by September 16, 2022.  If you are transferring the reservation, do not completely cancel and re-register.  Email the new name, address, email, phone number, affiliation/school, job title, special accommodations, vegan/vegetarian or other dietary requests to [email protected] 

  • Changes to the reservations must be made by September 16, 2022. No cancellations or changes will be accepted after that date and payment will be due in full. 

  • There are no refunds for no-shows.  We cannot issue “rainchecks”.

Other Terms and Conditions

Akron Public Schools may take photographic and video recordings at the event. In registering for this event, you acknowledge that we may include images of you in materials used in various publications, press releases, promotional articles, or related endeavors. This material may also appear on various Akron Public Schools social media pages. Capturing, transmitting, and redistributing data presented at Akron in Action events is prohibited. Any special dietary needs or accommodations must be noted during registration. Akron Public Schools and/or any of their affiliates are not liable for failure to perform any obligations related to the event if such failure is as a result of Acts of God. Akron Public Schools may cancel the conference for any reason. If Akron Public Schools cancels the conference, Akron Public Schools shall reimburse you for your registration payment, however, Akron Public Schools will not reimburse you for any other costs associated with the conference, including lodging and travel. 

Liability Waiver: By registering for this event, the attendee hereby waives and releases any and all rights, claims, liabilities and causes of action whatsoever he/she may have against Akron Public Schools or its affiliates relating to or arising from participation in this event, including but not limited to personal injury.
