ACE Mentors Awards Scholarship to APS Student

Ngwe Hla from Kenmore Garfield High SchoolNgwe Hla, a student in the Information Techonology Pathway at Kenmore-Garfield High School was recently awarded a $2,500 scholarship from ACE Mentor Program of Greater Akron.  ACE stands for Architecture, Construction, and Engineering.  

Students participating in ACE designed a community center and created a construction budget and timeline over the course of six nights.  One team from Kenmore-Garfield and two teams from Ellet presented their projects on the final night of the program.  Ngwe’s presentation came in on schedule and within budget, earning him the $2,500 scholarship.
