Dream Day 2018
Posted on 10/25/2018
Dream Day is October 30 from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the John S, Knight Center. DrE
3
am Day is an experience for Akron Public Schools’ high school seniors to connect with colleges and universities, local business and community leaders that can assist with their post high school pathways. Students’ post high school pathways can include Enrolling in college, Enlisting in the military or becoming Employed.
Students have the opportunity to speak with more than 50 representatives from colleges and universities, prospective employers and all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. In addition, students attend breakout sessions based on their post high school pathways. Volunteer community leaders facilitate the breakout sessions.
Students’ first session is a motivational keynote address from 1999 Kenmore High School valedictorian, Dr. Knatokie Ford. Dr. Knatokie Ford is Founder and CEO of Fly Sci™ Enterprise. Dr. Ford previously served as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Obama White House Office of Science and Technology Policy where she designed and led the “Image of STEM” project, which is listed in the top 100 S&T accomplishments of the Obama Administration.
