What is AVID?
AVID is a school wide instructional system for students that teaches students to think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to confidently conquer educational challenges. The AVID College Readiness System is designed to increase the number of students who enroll in colleges and succeed in higher education.

Why should you participate in AVID?
· It improves your critical thinking, reading, and writing abilities.
· You will participate and succeed in courses of high rigor.
· You are better prepared for postsecondary access and success.
· AVID graduates enroll in college at a higher rate.
