2026 Summer Programs

Bridge to Kindergarten (Buchtel and East Clusters)

Bridge to Kindergarten (B2K) is for families in the Buchtel and East clusters entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2026. Scholars will gain Kindergarten readiness skills to prepare for Kindergarten, including literacy, math, social-emotional, motor skills, and transition skills in a fun and engaging learning environment. We also offer parents and guardians the Parents as Partners program with guidance and support to be involved in their child's learning and success. The program continues throughout the kindergarten year.

Eligibility:  All incoming Kindergarten students
Program Locations:  Schumacher CLC
Program Dates:  June 1 - June 18, 2026
Daily Hours:  8:15am - 2:30pm

Jumpstart Kindergarten

Jump Start to Kindergarten is a free, four-week "bridge" program for APS families entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2026. Designed to ease the transition into elementary school, this program offers 80 hours of high-quality instruction focused on early literacy, foundational math, and social-emotional skills. Your child will be supported by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team—including teachers, speech-language pathologists, and mental health professionals—to ensure they are comfortable with school routines before the first day. 

Eligibility:  All incoming Kindergarten students
Program Locations: Barber, Hatton, Harris-Jackson, McEbright, Portage Path, Sam Salem, Schumacher
Program Dates:  July 13 - Aug 7, 2026
Daily Hours:  8:30am - 12:30pm
